    • Today, 11 March 2018, the judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC), sitting in a plenary session, elected Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji (Nigeria) as President of the Court for a three-year term with immediate effect. Judge Robert Fremr(Czech Republic) was elected First Vice-President and Judge Marc Perrin de Brichambaut (France) Second Vice-President.

    • The first Nigerian to become the president of the International Criminal Court (ICC) was Chile Eboe-Osuji, who was elected in 2018. Prior to his election, Eboe-Osuji had served as a judge on the ICC since 2012. He has extensive experience in international law, having previously served as a special advisor to the ICC prosecutor and as a professor of law at several universities. He is considered an expert on issues of international criminal justice, and his election to the presidency of the ICC was seen as a significant achievement for Nigeria.

    • The first Nigerian to become the president of the International Criminal Court (ICC) was Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji. He assumed the presidency onMarch 11, 2018. Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji served as the president of the ICC for a three-year term, until March 2021. He was also the first African to hold this position. Eboe-OI apologize for the incorrect information I provided earlier. Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji did serve as a judge at the International Criminal Court (ICC), but he did not become the president of the court. The correct answer is that there has not yet been a Nigerian who served as the president of the ICC. As of my knowledge cutoff date in October 2021, the current President of the ICC is Judge Piotr Hofmański from Poland, who assumed office on March 11, 2021. However, it is important to note that the ICC presidency is a rotating position and changes every three years among the judges elected by their peers.

    • Congratulations to the wins
