    pepper steak:

    Ingredients:

    • 1 pound (about 450g) flank steak, thinly sliced
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper, coarsely ground
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 1 onion, thinly sliced
    • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1-inch ginger, grated
    • 1/2 cup beef broth
    • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

    Instructions:

    1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sugar, and black pepper. Add sliced flank steak to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 15-20 minutes.
    2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
    3. In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed. Sauté sliced onion, bell pepper, minced garlic, and grated ginger until vegetables are tender-crisp.
    4. Return the cooked beef to the pan with the vegetables.
    5. Pour in beef broth and stir well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
